Tiled Shower Seats
Built In, Not Bolted On

When people think of a shower seat, they usually picture something clinical — a fold-down seat fixed to the wall that does a job but never really feels part of the room.
A built-in tiled seat is different.
It’s designed into the space from the start, built into the structure, fully tanked, and tiled so it flows with everything around it. Instead of looking added on, it feels like it belongs.
What most people don’t realise is the cost isn’t far off. A fold-down seat can be £600–£850 before installation, and once fitted, it will always look like a product fixed to the wall — functional, but not a design feature.
With a tiled seat, that same level of spend goes into the build itself — construction, waterproofing, and tiling. The result is something fully integrated, not attached.
When it’s done properly, the difference is clear. The proportions are right, the lines are clean, and the tiles run through without interruption. There are no brackets or breaks in the design — just a simple, solid feature that works.
It also allows for a more considered finish. You can even run under-tile heating beneath the seat, taking away the cold surface and adding to that spa-like feel.
Fold-down seats have their place. (See picture below.)
But if you want a space that feels designed rather than fitted, a built-in tiled seat changes the room.
It shouldn’t look added, it should feel like it was always there.
